GymOptic Terms of Use
Effective date: July 18, 2026
These Terms describe the rules for using GymOptic, including product scope, age requirement, local-first data handling, account use, disclaimers, and general legal conditions.
1. Agreement
- By using GymOptic, you agree to these Terms and to the app Privacy Policy.
- Explicit Consent is a separate optional choice for certain private progress features and is not required for normal core use of the app.
- If you do not agree, do not use the app, its account features, or any cloud sync tools.
2. Eligibility And Age Requirement
- GymOptic is intended only for users aged 16 or older.
- If we learn that an account or profile has been created below this threshold, we may suspend access and remove related data where permitted by law.
3. Product Purpose
- GymOptic is a local-first training-log and performance-planning app for fitness use.
- It is designed to help you record workouts, cardio sessions, routines, and Hybrid Race sessions, review training history, and use optional estimates, Pro features, and planning tools based on your own data.
- Core app use can stay local on your device. Linked email accounts can also use supported cloud sync and server-verified Pro features.
- The app is not sold as medical software, emergency support, or clinical monitoring.
4. Medical And Performance Disclaimer
- GymOptic is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation instructions, or emergency guidance.
- Ghost suggestions, System Load, Readiness, Volume Monitor, calorie estimates, timers, session briefings, and other progress views are product features generated from logged data and app logic.
- Progress photos, optional bodyweight entries, and related private progress views are for personal tracking and visualization only.
- These features are estimates and product tools. They are not personalized coaching guarantees, safety limits, readiness scores, or physiological or medical assessments.
- You remain fully responsible for how you train, rest, and interpret app outputs.
5. Accounts And Security
- Local mode is available without login. Linked cloud features require your own email account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials if you connect an email account.
- Pro access and premium server features are verified by GymOptic cloud systems and may be limited, changed, expired, or withdrawn according to the rules shown for the relevant access path.
- You must not share your account in a way that violates applicable law, harms the service, or bypasses product restrictions.
- We may take reasonable steps to protect the service, including rate limits, access restrictions, or account security measures.
6. Local Data, Backups, And Device Responsibility
- GymOptic uses a local-first architecture for important profile and training data.
- If you delete the app, clear app storage, lose access to your device, or fail to keep your own backup or sync path, local data may be permanently lost.
- Some local-only data, such as machine photos, race station photos, and optional private progress data, is not part of standard cloud sync.
- Normal machine photos use mandatory on-device automatic Privacy Blur before local persistence and can receive additional finger-drawn blur during review. Photos are not uploaded to a server for this processing. Progress Check-In does not use automatic person detection: each Front, Side, and Back photo instead has an optional manual Privacy Blur control that is off by default, and an accepted reviewed blur becomes that angle's check-in photo. A separate manual share-copy action can create a reviewed derivative and save it to the device photo library only when you explicitly request it without replacing the GymOptic photo.
- Automatic person detection and blur are privacy aids and may miss people, faces, reflections, partial figures, or image edges. You must inspect the processed image and add manual blur where needed before accepting or sharing it.
- Private progress data is not part of standard cloud sync or cloud export.
- A local device export or full local backup may include private progress check-in data, and a full local backup may also include private progress photo files when available.
- Use the in-app export and cloud features if you want extra protection against data loss.
7. Paid Features, Pro Access, And Payments
- Some features may require Pro access through an app-store purchase, subscription, or a complimentary beta, tester, family, review, or support entitlement assigned to an account.
- Prices, billing terms, cancellations, refunds, and renewal rules are shown and handled through the relevant app store or payment provider unless otherwise stated.
- GymOptic may change, add, or remove paid features over time, but this does not remove mandatory consumer rights.
- Complimentary access, store-managed offers, trials, and early beta access may be time-limited, account-limited, or subject to technical abuse-prevention limits.
8. Privacy, Explicit Consent, And Data Boundaries
- GymOptic is designed around a privacy-first model and does not sell user data.
- Explicit Consent is optional and only applies to certain private progress or private load-insight features.
- If you enable Explicit Consent, the app may process local-only bodyweight entries, notes, progress photos, and relevant recent training history on your device for those optional features.
- Turning Explicit Consent off later stops access to those gated features, but it does not automatically delete existing local private progress data. Separate in-app deletion tools may be required.
- Cloud features may rely on account, hosting, and sync infrastructure when you choose to use them.
- Server-side Pro features may send relevant account, machine, profile preference, and recent training context to GymOptic cloud functions so access can be verified and Pro outputs can be returned.
- Feedback and support tools may send your message, feedback type, optional reply email, platform, and app version when you intentionally submit feedback.
- Rest-timer notifications are optional local device alerts and require notification permission from the operating system.
- The optional Wear OS companion provides remote workout logging and independent watch timers. If you separately enable Watch Pulse Summary, accept Explicit Consent, and grant watch sensor permission, it may show live pulse and send local average/peak/duration summaries to the phone. Raw pulse samples are not stored or synced, and pulse is not used for Ghost, calorie estimates, or training calculations.
- You must not submit, sync, export, or share unlawful content or data you do not have the right to process or share.
9. Acceptable Use
- You may not misuse the app, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer restricted systems in breach of law, or use the service for unlawful activity.
- We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the app, investigate abuse, comply with law, or respond to material breaches of these Terms.
10. Availability, Maintenance, And Updates
- GymOptic is provided on an "as available" and "as updated" basis.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted cloud availability, permanent compatibility with every device, or error-free operation in every environment.
- We may update, improve, pause, or retire parts of the app over time.
11. Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GymOptic is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the app or loss of local data.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not allowed under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections.
12. Governing Law
- These Terms are intended to be interpreted in line with the laws of Denmark and, where applicable, the European Union.
- This does not remove any mandatory consumer rights or protections that apply to you under applicable law.
13. Changes To These Terms
- These Terms may be updated over time as the app and legal requirements evolve.
- If changes are material, we aim to reflect them through an app update, in-app notice, or linked legal page before relying on the new version for continued use.
